A beluga whale was transferred from Marineland in Niagara Falls, Ontario to a Chicago aquarium. It died weeks later. The move took place before the death.
Marineland also relocated four dolphins and two belugas to an aquarium in Spain. Now the park has no remaining dolphins. Only belugas remain at the site.
The transfer made the facility quieter. Staff inspect the water and health conditions. Visitors observe significantly fewer animals. The park’s visitor count decreased.
The wooded surroundings are unchanged. The water is still strong. The park houses only a few belugas. Visitors observe fewer scheduled shows. The water remains clear.
