ITV News reported on 9 October that the UK and its allies rallied around the International Criminal Court in response to US sanctions targeting the tribunal. The move marks a sharp divide between Washington and its traditional partners over the court's authority.

The decision by allied governments to defend the tribunal came shortly after the US imposed sanctions against the body. Analysts have noted that the divide could strain longstanding diplomatic relationships between Washington and its allies.

Separately, King Charles covered the restoration costs for Prince Andrew. The arrangement prompted comment given the continued uncertainty surrounding the prince's public role.

The PSNI also forwarded correspondence to Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O'Neill in connection with a Garvaghy Road protest associated with the long-running Drumcree dispute. The letter suggests the possibility of a formal police interview, adding a new dimension to a dispute that has remained unresolved for years.
