Acclaimed artist Yayoi Kusama has passed away. She continued painting until right before she passed away. She experienced hallucinations during her childhood. Kusama won the Praemium Imperiale award for her achievements in art. Her work gained global fame. One creation, the Red Pumpkin artwork, grew into an icon of Naoshima island.
