Bill Murray Returns as Peter Venkman in Rivian Halloween Ad

Bill Murray has stepped back into his role as Peter Venkman from the Ghostbusters franchise, starring in a Halloween advertisement for electric vehicle maker Rivian. The ad sees Murray patrolling New York City in the Ecto-R1, a Ghostbusters-themed electric SUV made by Rivian.

The appearance marks a surprise return to the franchise for the 75-year-old actor, though it has no ties to any new film. Rivian launched the ad on 9 October 2026, just before Halloween.
