The United States men's national team plays Canada in an international friendly at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Wednesday, closing the October international window. The USMNT have not beaten their northern neighbours in 58 years, and another failure would extend that embarrassing run.

Coach Jesse Marsch is also dealing with a selection headache. Folarin Balogun is in doubt after a ban decision that Marsch criticised publicly, calling it something that would "never happen" anywhere outside the United States. The setback adds pressure to a squad already facing a fixture with obvious bragging-rights implications.
