Stage six ended on the tough Tourmalet climb. Tadej Pogačar dropped the following peloton. He attacked up the final ascent well ahead. Jonas Vingegaard followed following, just shy of the lead. At this point the race moves into the Alps. Stage seven kicks off immediately after that major climb.
