Nelson Toburen, a linebacker who earned two NFL championship rings with the Green Bay Packers under coach Vince Lombardi, has died at 87 after a battle with cancer.
Toburen played during the Lombardi era, one of the most celebrated periods in Packers history. The team ruled the NFL during those years, and Toburen contributed to that run of success.
After his playing career ended, Toburen went on to serve as a judge in Kansas, a role that became a central part of his legacy.
