Production on The Batman Part II has been stopped after director Matt Reeves withdrew temporarily for a family matter. Variety Australia, The Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline all reported the halt on 5 October 2026.
The pause adds to scheduling worries already building around the sequel. Cast member Sebastian Stan, who recently opened up about how playing Donald Trump secured him a role in the film, had been working with Reeves before the pause. No timeline for a resumption has been announced.
