Ed Husic, Australia’s Industry Minister, condemned Labour’s internal workings after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza was rejected.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said described his remark at a conference as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unfazed by criticism, telling reporters: "put me in a ice box, I don't care at all."
The dispute followed previous efforts to push the party to formally recognise events in Gaza as genocide.
Internal papers and internal files were later filed that revealed sharp splits within Labour’s ranks over policy and leadership.
