Qantas has mailed letters or emails to ticket holders to about one million Australian customers.
The communication describes a $105 million settlement for flights that were cancelled amid the pandemic.
The airline reports the payout will be distributed to eligible passengers who booked in 2020 and will be finalised over the next few weeks in the near term.
simultaneously, Virgin Australia revealed it still holds $93 million in unused flight credits yet to be used.
The sum was disclosed as the airline’s chief executive received a salary increase this year.
Virgin has yet to announce any plan to release the credits so far.
