Governor Kathy Hochul has assigned Attorney General Letitia James to oversee the Cornell gang-rape investigation. This move follows the 2024 ruling not to prosecute, as revealed in recently released documents. The documents contain Jane Doe's account from transcripts. The governor directed the attorney general to manage the investigation, citing the requirement for a comprehensive review. The case had previously been handled by the district attorney.
