Members of Parliament have proposed changing the BBC's licence fee. They recommend reducing expenses and broadening financial support to cover areas beyond television. MPs also recommend scrapping the BBC's charter review and halting the broadcaster from outbidding commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to solve the BBC's financial challenges as it faces a key turning point. The recommendations come amid continuous debates about the broadcaster's future direction.
